Hello. My name is Julian Rollins, and I’ve been a keen naturalist since I was knee-high to the proverbial grasshopper. I’m a writer and editor specialising in wildlife, the environment and the great outdoors.
‘Wilder Wales’ started out as a working title for a book project that I had on the go a few years ago. It was meant as a small tribute to one of my favourite books, George Borrow’s ‘Wild Wales‘.
My book idea was taken up by the Llanelli-based publisher Graffeg. They stuck with the title and ‘Wilder Wales’ was published in 2015, with beautiful photography from Drew Buckley and a introduction by Chris Packham. You can read Natur Cymru’s review here.
But when you write a book you can only get so much in. There are word counts and deadlines to be respected, so the time comes when you have to say that’s that – and send it on it’s way.
And there’s so much more to say about Wales’s landscapes and flora and fauna. That’s what this blog is for.
